What Causes Receding Gum Lines And Shrinking Of Penis After Taking Synthroid?

I was recently diagnosed with thyroiditis, but given too high a dose of synthroid which I took for about 6 weeks before noticing that my gum lines were receding and my penis was shrinking and changing shape/curvature when erect. Now that I'm taking a smaller dose of synthroid, will these problems with my gums and penis correct(i.e. will tissue grow back) or am I stuck with these conditions permanently?
