What Causes Rectal Bleeding In An Alcoholic?

Hello.....My adult son, 38, alcoholic for 20 plus years; is bleeding rectally, and constantly using the toilet. He uses a roll of toilet paper a day. Recently he told me there was bright blood in the toilet. No er for him. He insists it only happens once a year? I am 72, his mom and was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma, blood and bone in Oct 2011. I went to Cleveland Clinic and received Rotuximab. I am cancer free, thank God...In my ximoid I had 50 to 60 cancerous polyps....now ALL gone. Polyosis. My wbc is 5.6 and I feel great. I pleaded to my son to go to the Dr. and he refused. His iron level from CBC is 540. Out of answers here..MM
