What Causes Recurrent Staph Infection Despite Taking Antibiotics?

I have a 16 year old son that has had several staph infections that seem to spread all over him and now he has red areas on his tongue Our pcp has him on antibiotics for the 5th or 6th time but it keeps coming back. should we seek an infectious disease dr ??
