What Causes Recurrent Throat Lumps With Pus?

I have these reacuring white puss bumps in my throat; they make me feel sick like im coming down with a cold. I can scrap these bumps off mu throat and they have a smell to them. I've also gone to the doctor before who has told me it was a sinus infection; took antibiotics - went away, but they still come back time and time again. What are they?
