What Causes Recurring Belching And Indigestion With History Of Acute Gastroenteritis?

I recently had an acute gastroenteritis episode when I constantly threw up, a lot of belching and had severe nausea. However after 1 month, I am having a lot of belching and am not able to digest food quickly. I was given Zantac for the gastroenteritis, and am taking some again right now but it doesn't seem to help. Is there any particular reason for why the belching and indigestion has returned after 1 month?
