What Causes Recurring Facial Hot Flushes?

My face has been turning red and hot feeling - even when I am not hot - last night just my nose turned real red - right now my ears feel like they are burning. I checked my pressure and it is 153/100 - I am a 48 year old white female - 5'7" and about 138 lbs. Could these issues be blood pressure related?
