What Causes Recurring Fever And Severe Tiredness In Children?

My son has had a fever on/off for 3 days from 38.3 -38.9 ! He just woke upfrom a nap and is at 39.2 & not acting himself and is very tired ! should I bring him to the hospital ? He also had a cold which i'm unsure if it's just the common cold or influenza ! Help please !
