What Causes Recurring Itching And Inflammation On Skin?

Hi. I have a friend who has skin asthma. And he takes medicines that is recomended by his cousin but not prescribed by doctor.
. .this medicine is oral prednisone.. .after he took that .. The itching and other symptoms was relieved but when he discontinued using it. . .the inflammation starts again.. .
