What Causes Recurring Itching And Swelling In Eyelid?
Hi,
I am a 55 year old female. Approximately 8 months ago my left eye lid swelled shut. It has happened about 6 times now periodically & my doctor or eye doctor does not know what is causing this. It only happens in my left eye & it happens suddenly. First my eye lid will twitch, then my eye starts to itch. I have learned by experience if I scratch my eye lid then my eye will be swelled shut within a half hour. If I don't scratch it then it will swell almost shut but not all the way. It takes 3 to 4 days for all of the swelling to go away. I have missed 4 days of work due to this. I would be so grateful for any advice you can give me. I am very frustrated. Thank you!
