What Causes Recurring Loose Stools With Urge To Pass Stools Frequently?

I m a 68 year old female and for the last 2-4 months have had loose stools to the point of having to run to the bath room; sometimes not making it without accident. It seems to be a daily thing any more and does not seem to be more often at any particular time of day - it can come on at any time. unless it is caused by ice cream I can t put any other food in line with it.
