What Causes Recurring, Red Boils Under Arm?

I have a nephew that alwalys have problem with under arm boils, these boils are big, red, very warm and very painful, they comes and goes every month, repeatedly. Sometimes the doctors cut the boils and drain out the the stuffs inside or even give him medications and ointment but none of these help at all. Please help!
