What Causes Recurring Red Patches Around Eyes?

Hi I'm a 50 year old male ...over the last year I have been getting red patches around my eyes, brow and one side of my face with a burning sensation...after a couple of days all the skin dries and goes flaky...this repeats about every two weeks....any ideas as to what it is ?. Thanks Brian
