What Causes Recurring Spotting With History Of UTI?

Recently I had a UTI infection and week later I have been passing blood in my urine - Toilet bowl pure red. I have had the same symptoms 3 years ago with lots of severe pain - and a Urologist operated and ruled out kidney infections, cancer etc and found no problems thankfully.

I also had recurring period type bleeding off and on over last 1 - 3 years although I am nearly 60 - 6 months ago I saw a gynaecologist who performed D+ C operation to check it out and nothing was found although I still notice a strong smell on my towels etc after showering but no more vaginal bleeding.

I have had a UTI which has been treated with keflex with current symptoms.
Should I investigate further?
I am 60 year old healthy, fit female with no other health issues except arthritis in hips. Normal weight and non smoker.
