What Causes Recurring Tremors In Head And Foot With Slurred Speech?

I am 61 years old and have sudden bouts of intense jerking movements mostly on the right side of my body involving my head to my foot. also unintelligible words when I try to talk during these episodes. they last a few minutes each. this has been going on for a few years. I was told the diagnosis was a hypersensitive nervous system. does this sound right? thank you for any insight you are able to provide for me.
