What Causes Red And Hard Bumps Above Knee?

Hello. I have a red bump forming above my right knee. It feels hard to the touch but doesn t hurt or itch. I first noticed it yesterday morning and it s been growing in size. There also appears to be a faint white halo surrounding the red area. Can you please help me to understand what may be causing this? I m concerned but not sure if it needs medical attention. Thank you.
