What Causes Red And Itchy Spot On Face?

I'm very concerned about this weird spot on my face. I'm getting older and I thought this spot was just a sun spot-I didn't really take the proper sun precautions when I was younger and have had my fair share of sunburns. In the last few months, this spot has gotten a little darker than it had been and has started to become raised and shiny. Today, I woke up and this spot is now dark red and slightly itchy. Its a Sunday, so I can't call my Dr.'s office. Do I need to seek medical care right away?
