What Causes Red Blotches On Soles Of Feet?

hello, my 3 year hold son has red blotches at the bottom of his feet. It started out with one in the middle of his foot and once pressure is applied it fades but then returns. However, it has been two days now and I notice that more has appeared and it now of the other foot. what is causing this?
