What Causes Red Blotchy And Itchiness Of Skin On Hands And Feet?

Hi,I am a 27 years old male and for the passed year I've had unexpected bouts of what seem to be red blotchy itchy skin. It only seems to happen on my hands and feet but primarily my feet.The skin will become very itchy, after which point it will feel like it's filled with fluid and will become red and somewhat inflamed.I am a normal healthy person who eats well and exercises regulaly.I have been to the local GP who couldn't help because at the time it wasn't inflamed. They told me to take anti-inflammtory tablets which I have tried but they don't appear to help.After a day or so the swelling goes down and all returns to normal - Any help would be greatly appreciated.
