What Causes Red Bump Randomly Popping On Body And Causing Itching?

Hello, I've had a sinus infection and small cough for a about 2 weeks now. Maybe minor flu like symptoms as well and have felt weak from being sick. I now have red bump like insect bites that randomly pop up on my body that itch!!! I even feel slightly itchy in my scalp at times. The red bumps welt up quickly then go away in days. Could this be from being sick and possibly hives of some sort? Thanks.
