What Causes Red Bumps Around The Tattoo Recently Got Done?

I just recently got a tattoo about a week ago.. I was using Vaseline on it, about 2 days ago red bumps (pimple like) starting showing up around the tattoo. I stopped all creams and just have been washing it 2-3 daily. The rash is still there and seems to be spreading all up and down my side. What should I do?
