What Causes Red Feet And Painful Heels?

My feet are red on the bottoms and on th edges of my little toes. I have had severe pain on the bottoms of my heels for over a month. A physical exam resulted in a diagnosis of planters fasciitis. I have been wearing inserts in my shoes for three weeks produced by Happy Feet. The pain is getting better. Tonight is the first time I have observed the redness. Should I be concerned?
