What Causes Red Lines That Begin At Inside Of Eye Going Towards Nose And Cheeks?

My 24 yr old grandson has reddish purple lines that begin at the inside of the eye & go downward toward the nose & out across the cheeks. I had not seen this before our recent visit. He said he s felt tired of late, but can t sleep well. And that he just doesn t feel real well. I m wondering about anemia?
