What Causes Red Painful Rash On The Upper Abdomen?

I have severe upper right side abdominal pain. Went to ER yesterday. Chest X-ray and liver enzymes normal. Went to a gastrointestinal doc today. Doing CT scan of stomach WednesdY. Just took clothes off and noticed a red ring on right side where it hurts. Comments??
