What Causes Red Rash On The Neck?

i keep getting bright red rash on my neck. the skin is shiny and slightly raised. I am 57 and have passed menopause. My neck looks like a highly irritated baby bottom. sometimes the rash lasts for 3-4 days. it is itchy and becomes worse after eating or after sleeping. Greatly appreciate your answer.
