What Causes Red Spots All Over Body And Swelling In Fingers?

Hi. I woke up two mornings ago with red spots all over my body, but not my face and neck. They were not itchy at all. The next morning I woke up with slight swelling in some of my fingers and one ankle. This morning that swelling is no different for the most part, but worse in one arm. I was not at home and hadn t seen my partner for 4 days, but he broke out in the same spots at the same time. He has not swelling. There is no itching whatsoever. Any clues?
