What Causes Red Spots On Chest?

Over the past few months, red bloody looking spots have appeared overnight on my chest, one at a time, varying in size from dime to larger than a silver dollar. They fade from day to day, then are gone within3-4 days. No pain, except that entire chest area is very tender.
