What Causes Red Spots On Legs In Entire Family?

My twenty year old daughter gets red and purple spots on her legs and sometimes her toes turn pure white.my four other children and myself also get red splotches.my twenty year old died from blood clots in her legs. i am also experiencing a severe colness in my hands and feet. i am forty-six. is this a hereditary disease?
