What Causes Red Spots On The Chest,back And Penis?

I have found small (no bigger than 1cm by 1 cm), circular spots on my boyfriend. They are scaly and red. He doesn't complain of them hurting. They are located randomely on his body. One is on his upper chest, another on his lower chest, one on his back and on his penis. What could it be?
