What Causes Red String Like Vaginal Discharge While UPT Is Negative?

I am supposed to get my period and instead there is string like red lines every time I wipe...I hardly got my period last month and have been feeling I'll lately. I took a pregnancy test a week ago and it was negative what's wrong with me?
