What Causes Reddish Bump On Outer Ear?

I have had this reddish bump towards the front/top of my outer ear. It constantly fills with fluid that i have to drain occasionally and the smell is beyond words. When it starts swelling up there is usually a whitehead associated with it. My doctors in my youth said that it was related to my sinuses and would eventually dry up. I am now 29 and it never happened. Is this really what it could be? Or is there somthing else?
