What Causes Reddish Circular Bruise On The Skin?

I have a red circle with bruise like coloring on the inside, its about the size of a quarter. A coworkers daughter was diagnosed with ring worm on monday but my coworker has not touched me at all, not even hand to hand contact. Could this be ring worm? Or am I just freaking out?
