What Causes Reddish Swelling On The Back Of Neck And Scalp?

i have a redddish swelling on the back of neck and another on my scalp under my hair. it itches a lot , initially about 5 days back they looked like a bunch of small pimples but now it is just a real swollen patch. do i hv heat boils or is it a fungal infection
