What Causes Redness And Swelling Around The Toe Nail Of A Child?

Daughters big toe became red a swollen by the nail. Redness expanded past bottom of toe. She had fever and vomited. One week later skin around toe has peeled away leaving red skin around front of toe. Redness going away , no swelling. Sound like a recluse bite? We live in florida
