What Causes Redness And Swelling Be A Matter Of Concern?

Two weeks back my house mate was admitted to hospital and we got to know that she is having TB. Yesterday we all were subjected to mauntox test. That particular area is little bit swelled up and is red. Is it anything serious. Will this affect me with TB? What are all the precautions we should take from now on, as that house mate is sent back to home from hospital?
