Hello, I had a lapidus bunionectomy in my right foot six months ago on August 1st. I have been going to therapy three times a week for the last 2-3 months and I am stlll walking with pain in my dorsal midfoot area (where the titanium plate is and where the surgery was performed). As soon as I bear weight on my foot, the midfoot area hurts as if I m being stabbed in the region. Some days are better than others. X-rays have shown, according to my doctor, complete fusion of my bones. Swelling of my foot is gone and the foot is back to normal but I have unexplained pain that causes me to limp. Today, I noticed, however, something different. I noticed redness and minor swelling over the area where the plate is. Could it be that I m allergic to the plate and it s taken this long for me to see an surface reaction on the skin? Or could it be that the plate is just bothering me? I m not sure what to think anymore.
