What Causes Redness In Eyes And Headaches After Quitting Alcohol?

i doctor.. I am l/35/Male from chandigarh. i am suffering from high BP from last 4 years now and i have been taking concor am5 till last month now my doc. has prescribed me amblopres.i am taking zolfresh 10 mg too in the night. i was a heavy alcoholic and smoker too.. my question is inspite of quitting alcohol i feel my head very heavy and red eyes, headache and sleepy. Kindly suggest that why this is continuing after quitting alcohol.
