What Causes Redness, Raw, Sore And Swollen Scars After A C-section?

Years ago I had many abdominal surgeries due to severe infection after c-section including one surgery where it was left open to heal from the inside out. Now all of a sudden the whole scar and even the drain scars are red,raw,sore and swollen. This has never happened before. Could this be a reaction to steroid injections I got in my hip 2 weeks ago?
