What Causes Reduction In Height?

Hi, i have friend who 19 yo. her height was 1.58m in 2014, and she measured her height today and shocked that she lost 3 cm of her height which become 1.55m now. why does this happen? is something wrong with her back bone? she always carry heavy bag on her back, is this could be the reason? thanks
