What Causes Right-sided Pain In Groin Area After A Hernia Repair?

I had hernia repair (mesh) three months ago and the pain in my right groin is horrific. I have gone back to three doctors and they have treated me with pain medication (several), antibiotics, just in case of an infection to no avail. I am 79 and work and very active. However, the pain has disabled me and cannot believe that there are no answers. I believe that I have nerve damage. Will this go away, and I am surprised that none of the doctors has indicated that I may have nerve damage. Actually there is this huge knot in my right groin and my stomach next to it is bloated.
