What Causes Ringing In Head And Ears Altering Sound?

Hello, I woke up this morning with a sort of 'cloudy' feeling in my head, as if both head and ears and ringing. When I hear people talk or listen to music the pitch is very off - i would describe it 'robot' like.
I am not in pain, I am just very confused as it feels so surreal.

I also have to add I have had several ear issues in the past - I cant really go underwater without earplugs, I often deal with ear aches and my ear drums are slighlty crooked.

But this is something totally new to me. Any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated.
