What Causes Rise In Blood Pressure After Suffering From Sore Throat?

I've been sick for a couple weeks, with a sore throat in the beginning and a constant cough. I've also had some nausea. Today I've actually felt better and had a good breakfast and lunch, but I've noticed an elevation in blood pressure, hand cramps, and a little shaking of the hands and bloodshot eyes. I haven't been taking any medication. Are these symptoms for something else? I've always experienced some elevated blood pressure, but have never taken medication for it.
