What Causes Seeing Of Tiny Flashes In Vision?

i have lattice since 28 years. i am seeing ophthalmologist since every two year and since last three years i am seeing him every six months. He think the eyes are fine. but i see is tiny flashes. are there any preventive methods for not to get worsen.
