What Causes Several Moles On Back And A Knot Underneath The Skin?

Hello,
I'm a very fair skin Caucasian 24 year old female. I have several moles on my back (at least 10). Recently, the mole on my upper left shoulder has been bugging me. I rub it because it tingles occasionally. It feels like there's a knot underneath the skin that I also cannot get out. My boyfriend has also noted that the spot is red, but I have a strong feeling this is because I rub it.

Please tell me if I should worry about this. I do not have health insurance, so consulting with a doctor face-to-face would preferably be a worst case scenario. Does this sound like signs of skin cancer?
