What Causes Severe Cold Followed By Pins And Needles?

I have had a av malformation removed 9 years ago at the celebral cortex. The dr advised that I may feel pins and needles and veritgo for a long time and will get worse if stressed or having a cold. The surgery needles and pins and vertigo lasted for about 3 years, then subsided. From that point on I would go many months even a year or so with no symptoms but once in a while they come back. The latest is after a long head cold, the symptoms restarted about a week after the cold disminished. I noticed that I'm drinking more coffee than I used to.. I'm a bit concerned
