What Causes Severe Congestion And Ear Pain?

hi, I was very congested like 6 weeks ago. went to doctor got an inhaler and decongestants. got a bad ear ache few days later and now cant hear out of one ear. No more pain since the one day but still am very congested. Havent been able to hear out of left ear for about a month or so now. Remedies? Thanks in advance.
