What Causes Severe Cough Along With Vomiting Up Of White Mucus?

Hello, I have this really bad cough for five weeks now and it doesn t seem to be getting any better. I am coughing up a whitish mucus and there seems to be no end to it. I went to the doctor two weeks ago and he diagnosed it as a cold. But my family and I feel like it s now than that. I ve been taking an expectorant during the day, and NyQuil at night. I feel like the NyQuil isn t doing anything because i m still waking up at least three times per night. My cough has become more sever and has lead to vomiting, being lightheaded, wheezing, and gasping for air. I also feel like my ribs are being squished. Something to keep in mind is that I have yearlong allergies and am taking Claritin and a prescription Fluticasone Propionate nasal spray everyday for it.. At this point any help would be welcome. I m almost at the point of having to go on independent study just for being sick. Thank you.
