What Causes Severe Ear Ache During A Flight?

I felt savior pains in my eras lately when i took flights .I flew on the same day twice and that pain was real killing me .Within few days i was fine .After 2 weeks i took a long flight for 8 hours and also during landing i entered up savior pain. After about 3 weeks i got a flew and suffered so much and ear ache came back. Few days ago i went to see the Doctor and after examination she was able to show me the picture of my ear drum,and was shocked to see it is looking as like blackish.
