What Causes Severe Itching Along With Dryness And Discoloration Of Skin?

A while back my legs and ankles itched intensely. over a period of time after scratching a lot I thought I had bruised the skin. But now both legs and ankles are extremely dry and discolored reddish brown. There are areas where you can see like small reddish spots and plaque like areas as well. They do not itch any more. My left ankle besides being discolored has white scaly patches. My doctor does not seem to have a clue and the waiting list to see a dermatologist in my network is 5 months. What might possibly be happening with me?
