What Causes Severe Itching And Burning In The Vagina?

I am an 29 year old lady .I am in a big trouble now.Since two years I have been suffering with vaginal itching.One day my husband showed me one red rash on his penis and after the contact itching started in vagina.we went to the doctor and she told its yeast infection and gave some medicines for my hus and me.But i didnt get any relief.It was a tablet to keep inside the vagina and one antifungal cream to apply.After that husband have no problem but i cannot tolerate this itching .After the scratch i feel too much burning sensation.Please help me and tell me what desease is this and what is the remedy.If it is a sexual transmitted desease,i cannot go hospital and take treatment.So please advise me any medicine which i can do from home.
