What Causes Severe Itching In The Vagina?

I have a question about down there. I am a woman and lately i have been really ichy and today it started to irritate when i go pi. My husband said his penis has been itching today a bit but it has been maybe 2 days now that we havent done anything. The itching started about 3 maybe 4 days ago and it wasn't as bad until now. What should I do?
